The National September 11 Memorial & Museum

The National September 11 Memorial & MuseumVisit the principal memorial and museum that commemorate the terrorist attack of 9/11, when almost 3000 people lost their lives, and the 1993 bombing, when 6 people were killed. The National September 11 Memorial & Museum is situated at the World Trade Centre site, the former location of the Twin Towers, which were destroyed during the terror attacks of September 11.
The memorial consists of two twin reflecting pools, which are each 1 acre (0.4 hectares), with the largest man-made waterfalls in the North America cascading down their sides. Almost 3000 names of people who were killed during the terrorist attacks are inscribed into bronze parapets surrounding the memorial pools.
The 9/11 Museum was opened to the public in May 2014. The museum has an area of 110000 square feet (1.02 hectare) and features more than 10000 artefacts, 23000 images and real-time recordings linked to the events of September 11.

High Line
